Having said where only a thin layer of gold is applied, supplementary care is to be taken in order to maximise it's longevity! Here are some general guidelines to follow when taking care of your jewellery:
Application of perfume, or any lotion/cream are not advisable upon wearing your jewellery. Application can be done upon drying to restrict chemicals in the liquid products damaging your jewellery's metal.
Sweating may also effect your jewellery. Therefore, it's best to remove your jewellery during any heavy physical work (exercise, swim, etc)
It is advisable to remove your jewellery upon showering, as water contact may deteriorate your jewellery.
To clean your jewellery, you may use a cotton ball or a very soft cloth to get rid of any dust or dirt.
Jewellery cleaners and antibacterial soaps which may have certain components, should be avoided as it will tarnish the layer of gold on your jewellery.
Atmosphere plays a big part in jewellery care. Your jewellery should be kept in our batik pouches when it's not worn (comes with every order), to prevent your jewellery from being oxidised.
